Hullo folks,

Well, I finally made it back online after quite a while of focusing on life/work/stuff - meant to get back online October-time but then various very good personal circumstances including meeting an extremely nice woman (and three cats!) and other diverse exciting events kept me busy. Having finally caught up with life and being about to undergo a knee operation which will keep me out of active action for a month or two (good timing for armchair chasing ... mmm) it's time to log in again

Anyway, hope you're all keeping well and whilst I'm taking a year off plains chasing this year to focus on other things I'm really looking forward to seeing how the weather develops and hopefully getting reports from you all from the amazing storms you catch to make me envious

Cheers all,

Tim

Thanks Chris and Kathy! And yes, was very sorry to hear of Ed's passing though having recently lost a relative to cancer I can understand that for the person concerned it can be a release from the illness. I'm glad I had the chance to meet him on tour, he was quite a character.

Welcome back Tim!  You have plans on coming over to this side of the pond for chasing this year?  What type of knee surgery?

Thanks Patrick! After four very enjoyable chase years I decided to take a year off this year to work on some other ambitions - I've wanted for years to go diving with whales so I am running a trip with a group of old friends to Newfoundland for two weeks, hoping to be in the water with humpback whales, narwhals, belugas .. and anything else that happens to turn up. It's a long-time ambition so a worthy summer tour for my year off! If funds allow I would love to come over for a hurricane encounter later in the year too, we'll see how things work out there.

The knee op is straightforward - just some keyhole surgery for a long-standing injury, removing some inflamed tissue and a check on wear to make sure there aren't any worse underlying issues. I'm hopeful it'll be a simple day-case and whilst there's a longer rest period before I can get back into sports action that's good for armchair chasing

Hey Tim welcome back!  Great to hear from you!

Hoping for a speedy recovery and no side-problems with your knee surgery.  Sounds like you have the right attitude though!

Oh, hi Tim!  So great to see you back again!  I had given up hope and thought you weren't reappearing unless chasing again.
We're getting ready for this season here - even though for me it will still be 4 months to go!
Will you post over on SLT too?

Thanks Mitch! I ended up being a bit busier than expected after seeing you in the autumn - which was great, thanks for taking the time to meet up  I dropped a quick post on SLT wishing everyone the best for the season last week and will do my best to keep an eye on the boards there too.

Just out of my knee operation (very quick - modern surgery is amazing!) and on convalescence now so looking forward to having a bit of time to follow the weather :-)
